"Go home to your family and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you." Mark 5:19

God has a plan for everyone - to restore sinful people to a right relationship with Him. He seeks us out, loves us through our rebellion and arrogance in the hopes that we reach out to Him and surrender our lives. New Christians are always amazed that they serve a God who has been intimately involved in their lives, and has never pulled back His love for them. God is the ultimate healer of individuals and families.

On Sunday, April 10, Kiara Fitzpatrick was baptized into Christ. Kiara is a 15-year old freshman at Curtis High School , and a member of the Tacoma teen ministry. She has been studying the Bible for the last few months, following in the footsteps of her parents, Burton and Jenn Brazier. Last year Burton and Jenn started coming to church, and shortly after began studying the Bible. As they reconciled their relationship with God, there was much repentance and forgiveness in their personal lives, as well as a restoration of a marriage they had neglected. In May 2004 they were baptized into Christ. God has blessed their commitment to Him, and as they've told their family how much the Lord has done, their kids are being transformed. They have three children: Kiara (15), Monet (8), and David (5). They have been amazed at the plans God has for their family!

At her baptism, it was clear that Kiara is a responsible young woman, who loves God's word and has taken the scriptures seriously. She vowed to serve God wholeheartedly in her life, to help evangelize the lost teens around her, and to do whatever she can to share the gospel with her younger brother and sister. I'm positive this is what Jesus has in mind when he envisions families being touched by God's mercy. To God be the glory!
